Warriors White Coach

I am proud of the consistent improvement of the Warriors White baseball team this summer season.  Over the past month, the student-athletes have competed on a higher level, both as a team and as individuals.  Two of the most important characteristics of a baseball team are teamwork and chemistry; skills that the Warriors White team are constantly developing and improving.

The Warriors White Team has come together as one solid unit throughout the season. Our pitching has become more dominant, and the pitchers are throwing strikes with more confidence.  This is because of more pitching opportunities and coach instruction.  They are pitching with poise from the mound.

In the batter’s box, the hitters are much more relaxed and have improved their approach tenfold.  As they have improved their approach, they are taking advantage of the opposing pitchers’ mistakes and hitting them hard.  Our players are looking to attack the ball now and this has impressed me so much.

In the field, we have become more fluid and we have started to take aggressive routes to the ball.  In doing so, I have seen a lot of plays being made that I could not imagine being made at the beginning of the season. Every player has improved their skills, their respect for one another, their ability to work hard, and the team chemistry.

I could not be happier with how this season is going.  As coaches, Beau Gardner and I like to take an enthusiastic approach and create a positive environment so all of our student-athletes can succeed.  Beau and I both played for the California Warriors when we were in high school.  We now have the opportunity to teach, and build skills, and confidence while having transitioned from playing to building a careers as coaches. As former players, we know that teamwork is extremely important. Coaching with a close friend makes coaching a lot easier, because we are always on the same page with game time decisions. Beau and I try to incorporate the best aspects of the coaches that we have played for, and try to mirror their different styles into the coaches we aspire to be. We work together to do our best in being role models and we hope that these values have been passed on to our players.

I absolutely love coaching these student-athletes on the Warriors White team. They have made an impact on my life and have helped me improve as a coach. I’m proud to say that I am a coach of the California Warriors White team, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season will play out to be.
