This is our 10th year of providing career & technology training through internships. We will continue to provide opportunities to college and high school students throughout the summer of 2014. Individuals who are selected as interns will develop sophisticated office and technology skills while working under the guidance and tutelage of a team of professionals who are tops in their field.
Many of our interns attend UC Berkeley and/or are recommended to us by the Marin County Office of Education School to Career Partnership.
The FBF Internship runs from June 1st – July 30th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 2pm.
Summer 2014 Internship Positions
Social Media & Marketing Intern
Responsibilities will include growing our online presence through our social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, Instagram, and Pinterest) and establishing connections within the community (local businesses, newspapers, etc.). We are looking for someone who is outgoing and interested in a future in advertising, public relations, or marketing.
Clubhouse Manager Intern
You will be working with the Collegiate Head Coach to oversee the clubhouse. You will travel with the team, make travel arrangements, bring equipment to games, launder uniforms, and generally make sure the players are happy. You will also keep score on our iPad during the games.
Video Production Intern
You will assist in creating and editing short promotional videos of the California Warriors baseball players that will be used in several different marketing and advertising platforms. The ideal candidate must have a keen interest in film and a working knowledge of iMovie.
Web Design Intern
You will learn how to use WordPress (html & CSS) and will assist in managing the First Base Foundation website.
As the Statistician, you will be responsible for creating statistical reports of our players, and tracking hitting and pitching stats throughout the summer season. You will give our general manager a sabermetrics report on our collegiate team.
Sports Journalism Intern
You will be responsible for writing articles about our various teams and their games throughout the summer. You must have an interest in sports writing, and you must be willing to attend California Warriors games throughout the summer.
Volunteer Coordination Intern
You will be responsible for helping to create and implement a viable volunteer program for our organization from our team parents, donors, and community supporters. We are looking for somebody who is good with people and has excellent organizational skills.
Community Outreach Intern
You must be able to market our organization and advertise our California Warriors games.
Public Announcer and Scoreboard Operator
You will be responsible for scoring and announcing all of the California Warriors Collegiate games. The ideal candidate must understand the game of baseball, be able to multi-task, and be comfortable speaking in front of crowds, as you will be announcing hitters, pitchers, and advertising spotlights during the innings. Must know how to score baseball games, and must have a keen interest in baseball.
Office Assistant Intern
You will be providing detailed office assistance to the Executive Director. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, focused, and has the ability to multi-task. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
