The California Warriors Blue Team hit it out of the park Saturday morning with a dominant win of 11-1 over the Berkley Buzz. They scored in nearly every inning and managed to bat around the line-up in multiple innings. “It was like clockwork,” said Joe Levin, third-baseman. “When it was time to hit, we hit, and when we were on the field we executed efficiently and got back into the dugout fast.”

IMG_1998Not only were the bats alive on Saturday, but the pitchers (Henrik Reinertsen, Ben Hoxie and Teddy Hoxie) worked hard to do their jobs. Pitchers were efficient in throwing strikes and kept the ball low to force the groundballs that were easily turned into outs. The student-athletes hitting multiple triples and doubles to center and right field crushed balls.

The Berkley Buzz scored their single run of the game in a short rally in the sixth inning. The Blue Team never let up on the Buzz and took their first win of the weekend.

The California Warriors Blue Team showed up early on Saturday to play a double header against the Oaks Baseball Club. Both games were filled with exciting moments and difficult plays. The Oaks took the field first, loading the bases with Blue players by walking two and hitting a batter. The Oaks then walked in a run to give the Blue Team the lead. The Warriors and Oaks then battled back and forth in what turned out to be a true nail biter, but the Blue Team made the necessary plays to preserve the lead and take the win with a final score of 1-0.

The second game between the California Warriors Blue Team and the Oaks was equally exciting. The Oaks put runs up on the board early, including a triple to deep center field that cleared the bases. The Warriors showed no sign of giving up on the game, and fought hard until the final out. Even though Blue Team lost the game, it was a good experience that the players can use to build off of to help motivate them for the games to come.
