IMG_1528The California Warriors shutout the Neptune Beach Pearl in a non-league game at Laney College Wednesday night to get their fourth straight win of the season and improve their record to 18-10 overall.

Pitcher Taylor Toccalino started for the Warriors and was lights out on the mound, only giving up four hits and no runs in six innings. Jack Schoenberger, Jonathan Hernandez, and Matt Ladrech each pitched one inning out of the bullpen to keep the shutout intact.

The Warriors’ offense was quiet early on, scoring only one run in the first five innings, but the Warriors then unloaded in the sixth inning with four runs. With the bases loaded Kailen Robinson walked and Dennis Karas scored to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead. Later in the inning Taylor Jones hit a 2 RBI single to knock in Allen Smoot and Justin Gubser. A few batters later Steve Baker hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring Robinson home. The Warriors would tack on one more run in the seventh on sacrifice fly by Dennis Karas for his second RBI of the game.

The California Warriors ended up winning the game 6-0. The Warriors now travel to Folsom Lake College on July 5th for doubleheader against the Sacramento Heat. The Warriors look to continue their winning streak. Go Warriors!
