An Athlete’s Healthy Nutrition: By Deborah Coffey Part 2 of 6

August 25, 2012 | 0 Comments

Eating Healthy on a budget:

  1. Drink more water: 8 8oz glasses a day. Filtered water
  2. Drop the sodas, juices, soy lattes, alcohol, fancy energy drinks. These drinks add an enormous dent in your budget and do very little for your nutritional needs.
  3. Buying more frozen vegetables, they are frozen freshly after picking and sometimes can be even more nutritious than store bought. By the time your produce gets to your stores sometimes it’s a week of two after it has been picked before it gets to your table. Unless of course you go to your local farmers market which is ideal of course.
  4. Cook enough food to have leftovers each time you cook, you can use your leftovers for stir-frys, soups, stews
