Hitter of the Week: Devin Pearson – Cal Berkeley

Over the last week, Devin has gone 8-23 with 5 Runs, 6 RBI, 2 Doubles, 1 Triple, and 2 SB, setting an upward trend that he will look to sustain over the course of the season. The Bears’ starting Center Fielder is proving to be an excellent leadoff hitter – he has posted an OBP of .406 over 52 ABs this season, and gets himself in position to score, stealing 5 bases in 7 attempts.




Pitcher of the Week: Kit Larson – Santa Barbara City College

Kit has been taking care of business on and off the field – while posting a 3.76 GPA, he has recorded a 2-1 record with two saves and a 1.29 ERA in 14 innings. Over the last three games, the Vaqueros’ hurler has pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits, and striking out 6. As a result of Kit’s all-around success, he has just been elected to the 2014 Academic All-State Baseball team, which is comprised of the best ballplayers with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
