Tryouts Girls Basketball

March 25, 2011 | 0 Comments

The First Base Foundation is excited to announce that we are now going to have a girl’s high school basketball program! Diane Peterson  will be the head coach of the team. There will be an open tryout for girls entering 8th thru 12th grades being held on Saturday, April 30th at Redwood High School located at 395 Doherty Drive in Larkspur, CA. from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. There will be a great staff of coaches to evaluate the girls and provide written feedback and suggestions on what to do to improve. Players will have the option of signing up for the Bay Area Warriors team and playing in 3 summer tournaments and twice-weekly practice/ skill sessions or the option of just participating in the practice/ skill sessions. My goal for this program is to help develop and improve individual skills and build a cohesive team that competes at an elite level. This is a great opportunity for players to get one-on-one coaching to enhance skills and fundamentals that will help give them an advantage going into their school’s basketball tryouts.
Diane played four years of Varsity basketball at a local high school, two years at a Junior college and receive a full athletic scholarship to play Division 1 at California State University Sacramento. She has been an AAU coach for 4 years and a local high school Varsity coach for the past two years. As a coach, she recognizes the importance of fundamentals and how far they can get you in the game of basketball. Diane is very excited to help give players the tools to succeed in high school and beyond. We look forward to seeing you all at tryouts April 30th!!! GO BAY AREA WARRIORS!
