Academy Teams Information
The First Base Foundation and Giants Community Fund have partnered to create Academy Teams with the goal of providing a high-caliber summer baseball experience in 2023 to San Francisco high school student athletes that are free of financial barriers to participation. “This program emphasizes life lessons as the primary objective and sport skill development as a secondary goal.” It is a positive and accessible opportunity for San Francisco youth to become better baseball players while developing as young adults and building camaraderie across San Francisco’s high school baseball community. The coaches include some San Francisco current high school coaches and former and current college baseball players who have gone through the California Warriors Coach Development Program.
Summer 2023 Program Details:
- Uniforms were handed out at the first practice on Thursday, June 15
- Practices were held every Thursday at Crocker Amazon baseball field in San Francisco from 5:00-7:00 PM. These weekly practices will focus on skill-building, teamwork, and player development.
- Games were played every Saturday at Silver Terrace in San Francisco.
- Additional practices were held on Sundays June 18, June 25, and July 9 from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM at Paul Goode Field.
- We encouraged all families and friends to come out and support our players at each game!
